Top 10 Beauty Treatments done by Celebrities Before the Oscars.
Mesotherapy - skin vitamin injections:
The aging process can be cruel to our skin. Between sun damage and
progressive collagen loss, the skin loses its plumpness and resiliency.
Mesotherapy for skin revitalisation infuses the dermal layer of the skin
with a potent cocktail of vitamins and anti-oxidants to rejuvenate and
revitalise.
People who have had Mesotherapy for skin rejuvenation describe their skin as
firm, radiant, youthful and glowing. The treatment is usually performed over
an initial series of one session per week for 4-6 weeks. Results are then
maintained by touch-up sessions.
Simildiet Face-Anti-Ageing is a wonderful treatment on its own and contains
a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and amino acids. It is also
a perfect complement other
skin treatments we offer including, chemical peels, Botulinum Toxin and
dermal fillers. However, it also stands on it's own as a powerful anti-aging
therapy.
In the same way, the skin can also be nourished with micro-injections of
hyaluronic acid using Restylane Vital and similar products to restore
plumpness and volume of the skin.
Typically, the initial treatment course consists of 3 sessions, 1 month
apart then 3 - 4 times yearly for maintenance.
Both treatments can be carried out on the face, back of the hands, neck and
dcollet area.
Mesotherpy in the treatment of ageing skin aims to replace minerals,
vitamins and amino acids that are found in lower levels in skin, which
lessen as we age.
It involves the injection of a specially prepared mixture of medications,
placed just under the skin into the problematic area. Just a "drop" of
solution is used at each injection site.
The idea is that you can get these active substances to the site requiring
treatment by directly injecting them there.
Multiple injections using a very fine needle are administered immediately
beneath the surface of the skin. It will help to improve circulation,
replace lost vitamins, minerals and amino acids, or boost levels of
hyaluronic acid. Treatment is not painful but slight discomfort will be
experienced. If you do find it uncomfortable, a topical anaesthetic can be
applied prior to treatment.
Micro-injections are given every couple of weeks for two to three treatment
courses. Some individuals may require a longer initial course of treatment.
When the desired effects are achieved, you will require a maintenance
program every few months or so.
After the treatment you can return to day-to-day activities. Possible side
effects are small bruises, which vanish in a few days, and a little swelling
in the injected area, which remains for about 12 - 36 hours.
French women don't get fat, and apparently, they don't age, either (just
take a look at model turned premire femme Carla Sarkozy). Their secret,
perhaps? Facial mesotherapy, the lunchtime treatment in which
complexion-brightening vitamins are shot four to six millimeters below the
epidermis to improve skin's texture and tone. While the practice of
injecting actives into the skin has existed for more than 50 years, these
vitamin cocktails, packed with legit antiaging ingredients, have little in
common with the sketchy "fat-melting" mystery mixes popularized in mall
spas. "When you deposit vitamins directly into the skin with a needle,
you're giving the tissues exactly what they need, where they need it," says
Lionel Bissoon, DO, a NYC-based mesotherapist who is credited with being the
first to bring the treatment from France.
According to Bissoon, neither oral nor topical vitamins can offer similar
results. Bissoon uses an FDA-approved handheld mesotherapy gun to inject
between eight and 16 minuscule shots (each roughly 0.02 ccs of liquid, or
one fifth the size of a raindrop) of a customized, strictly multivitamin
blendincluding low concentrations of vitamins A through Einto specific
facial points, such as the forehead, cheekbones, and outer corners of the
lips. After a series of four to six weekly treatments, Bissoon claims that
skin looks "fresher and more radiant" and requires approximately three to
four touch-ups a year afterward. In addition to light bruising, patients
might experience pinpoint bleeding and swelling.
So far, there's just one peer-reviewed study addressing facial mesotherapy.
"It probably does promote some antiaging," says David J. Goldberg, MD, a
clinical professor of dermatology at NYC's Mount Sinai School of Medicine
and coauthor of the only published research on the treatment. "But without
clinical results, it's really medi-spa hype at this point." His research,
which appeared in the journal Dermatologic Surgery, examined 10 subjects who
underwent four sessions of vitamin mesotherapy. After six months, "there was
no statistically significant improvement," Goldberg says, "but we did see
some microscopic evidence of new collagen formation." Forty percent of his
testers also reported an immediate but temporary change in skin's firmness.
Bissoon argues that, as with topical creams, mesotherapy takes time and
consistency. "If skin is constantly aging, you constantly have to treat it,"
he says. "You can't just call it quits after six months."
