Kaylyn Kyle: Leading Canadian Women's Soccer Player Reveals her Success Mantra "Believe in yourself "
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and
budding professional soccer girls who all are your fans, they shall like to know
from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of
professional soccer ?
Ms. Kaylyn Kyle: Well I have two tattoos on me that I live by-Life is a
journey not a destination-Believe in yourself
Work hard when no one is watching. I think a lot of times it's the little things
that go unnoticed but those make the biggest difference!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: How did you feel before and after playing for Canada
women's national soccer team and winning a gold medal for Canada at the XVI Pan
American Games Guadalajara 2011?
Ms. Kaylyn Kyle: That was the first time I won anything huge on the women's
team, so for me it is a moment I will always hold close to my heart! All the
sacrifices we made as a team up until that point was definitely worth it.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in
your success in the field of your career in competitive professional soccer ?
Ms. Kaylyn Kyle: My family! I was that annoying little girl following her
older sister's every move since she played soccer. I would watch her every move
and try to emulate! My dad also played sports his entire life. He was a
professional hockey player and was always someone I looked up to growing up!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: How do you feel on being featured in Sportsnet's 2013
"Beauty of Sport" an issue featuring Canada's top 28 most beautiful athletes?
Ms. Kaylyn Kyle: At first I was shocked! That was my first major photoshoot
I had ever done. It was so cool though, even though I was extremely
nervous/scared. Those nerves quickly disappeared since they made me feel so
comfortable. I would love to do something like that again though. I feel it
really shows an athletes body: I mean we aren't size 2 models you see in
magazines. We are strong, beautiful women that have our imperfections.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have been associated Under Armour's Earn Your Armour
campaign and is also a Right To Play ambassador, they are all dear to your
heart, tell us how you have been able to achieve and quench your thirst of
giving back to the society through these endeavor of your?
Ms. Kaylyn Kyle: I'm extremely lucky to be able to do what I do. Growing up
I didn't have a female role model. I always looked up to men because that's all
I ever read about and it's all that was ever televised. I'm now given a chance
to change that and to have both young girls AND young boys looking up to a
successful woman in sports is something I am very proud of. To have someone to
look up to and have a role model that can help them set goals to achieve there
dreams, whether that be in sports, school, or life. I know I've been extremely
lucky so if I can help shape a young kid or even an older person then I'm doing
my job!
