There are certain food substances that need to be watched out along with yoga practice in order to derive maximum benefits from each session. Besides, a diet that is conducive to the practice of Yoga and spiritual progress can be rightly termed ‘Yogic Diet


Tips to a Yogic Meal
  • Prepare the food you (and others) eat with love and care. An important ingredient of the yogic diet is the vibration that is put into the food.
  • Eat in a relaxing, pleasant environment. This helps with the digestion and assimilation of the food.
  • Serve food gracefully. The act of serving others instills a consciousness and sacredness to the eating experience.
  • Take a minute before you eat to be grateful. Blessing food adds prana, or life force. Prayers don’t always have to be eloquent and inspired.
  • All articles of food should be thoroughly masticated in the mouth. Then only they can be readily digested, easily absorbed and assimilated in the system.

 

If these  dietary suggestions are combined with asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation, you can derive maximum benefits.
