Namita Nayyar:
Social media has become a huge platform to connect with like-minded people across the globe. How has it helped you in building your brand?
Whitney McClintock:
I really enjoy connecting on social media with fans, old friends & brands. It is a great way to build a reputation by answering simple questions for people. I really love getting to know women on social media who love to waterski- often times these women come to ski with me when I host “Women’s Weeks” at my husband’s ski school in Orlando, FL. Through my posts, I mostly keep people informed about how I am doing in competitions, while representing my sponsors and my lifestyle the best I can. I try to represent life on the water, happiness/inspiration & “living your dreams”!
Namita Nayyar:
Resolutions or goals for 2020? Motivational quote you live by?
Whitney McClintock:
In 2020, I look forward to focusing much of my energy on my favorite event- slalom skiing. If there is one piece of my career that I am missing, it is the World Record. I tied it back in 2012, but I want to own it! I am dreaming big dreams and believing that everything is possible with God! (Matt 19:26).
My quote that I came up with in my freshman year of university is: “Go for what your mind wants & don’t give up until your heart is satisfied” – I am not meant to have everything I want; but this thought process takes me on a journey towards something I truly desire to accomplish. My heart will only be satisfied when I have accomplished what God designed for me.
Namita Nayyar:
You also work part-time as a real estate agent, how did this endeavor of yours come into being?
Whitney McClintock:
I purchased my first home when I was 19 years old, and then parents, brother & I all purchased another home in the next 5 or so years ALL with the same Real Estate Agent! I played a major role in the process of every purchase my family made & it sparked my interest in the possibility of being a Realtor one day. When Matt and I were recently engaged he encouraged me to get my license because he thought I would be great at it & we often have people come to the ski school who have an interest in purchasing a vacation home in Orlando. Being the nerd that I am, I really enjoyed the online real estate course & got my license right before Matt & I got married. I really enjoy doing home searches & helping my buyer get the right price for the right property. In 2019 I was able to put my Real Estate career on hold to focus on becoming a world champion on the water again…and now that the season is over, I am able to open my door as a Realtor again. It is a great balance for me & I am excited about my future in Real Estate.
