Are there any foods/food groups that are a big non-no in your children’s diet?
SC:
No, I do not eliminate anything from my kids’ diet except excess sugary foods that have been processed.
NN:
What is the best workout for post pregnancy weight loss: Cardio, Strength training or a mix of both?
SC:
Definitely a mix because they both work together to accomplish different things. Cardio is great for fat loss while strength training is great for muscle building. To reach your goal faster, you will want to do both!
NN:
When did you start working out post pregnancy?
SC:
I was doing light exercise within a week postpartum such as pelvic floor exercises. However, I waited until well after my 6 week postpartum doctor visit to pick up the weights again. The best thing you can do is to go slow and listen to your body. If you feel any pain, stop!
NN:
Any good workouts that you can do with your children?
SC:
When my kids were smaller, I would actually wear them in a baby carrier while walking or doing squats and lunges. Now that they are bigger and toddler age, they copy what I do.
