Chun-Wai Chan, MD-MPH is a cardiologist, professor, and hospital executive. He graduated with honor from Princeton University, obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed his cardiology training at University of California San Francisco. After his clinical training he joined Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and quickly rose to the rank of Chief of Cardiology and Assistant-Physician-In-Chief, combining clinical practice, teaching, and administration in his career spanning over thirty years. In 2012 he took an early retirement so that he could devote more time to helping hospitals in China improve quality of services and patient safety. He is also a frequent speaker for health seminars in the United States and abroad, using his expertise to help others take good care of themselves and face illnesses. In addition, Dr. Chan is the author of several publications, including two other books: From Orphan to Physician, Just One More Child, and several articles in professional journals.
