Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit? Your anytime favorite food?
Saweetie:
I try to cook for myself. I feel like if I’m not going to go on a strict diet, I can do my due diligence by cooking as much as possible and controlling my portions by measuring ingredients so my meal is healthy.
And my any time favorite food would definitely be crawfish with a yummy cajun sauce, extra spicy, and a side of rice.
Namita Nayyar:
We hear that you consider your style to be a mix of both high-fashion and alley-fashion. What are your five all-time favorite party looks for 2020?
Saweetie:
I would definitely say a furry bra with silk and ribbons, oversized color lenses or clear shades. I think that’s really dope! Maybe like some bull riders. I’ve been wearing a lot of low riders and I like how it accentuates my hips. I think a simple but sexy halter top and platform heels because if you wear platform heels, you have to have a well-trained foot and great balance. Those three different looks from high and low-end brands, mixed together, would be great!
Namita Nayyar:
Give us one haircare and one skincare tip that you swear by?
Saweetie:
I would definitely say deep conditioning your hair. I get my hair done a lot and I have noticed that my hair is starting to thin. When it comes to skin, it’s all about daily masks and moisturizing your skin.
Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your favorite music and fashion icons and what in them inspires you the most?
Saweetie:
I really have love and respect for the 70s and 80s!
Some of my favorites are Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye, and The Isley Brothers. I feel like they didn’t have anything to sample or to pull from, so their sound of music was original, coming from the heart and soul which is why it is called soulful music. You can hear it in their records and see it in their fashion choices. I want to channel what they were able to tap into. They had a unique sound and style of their own, which is so important in today’s generation. I’m always really inspired to create that feeling for myself and for my fans.
