Sara Errani is ranked World No.1 in Women Tennis Doubles. She is in an exclusive interview with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are ranked World No.1 in women tennis doubles. You have selected a sport where while playing doubles, it being a team sport, requires a lot of cohesiveness and rhythm between the players to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Sara:
Yeah you’re right…I feel very fortunate to meet Roberta Vinci and to became such good Friends…we’re almost like sisters…we share a lot of moments each other and with our teams on court and also off court, and that fact helped us a lot during our careers…
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Sara:
I do a lot of abdominal work and a lot of stretching…and also feel very comfortable with the rubber band…I use it very often especially for warming up before matches…
I’ve not a routine but just doing all the stuff I need for feeling very comfortable…
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Sara:
No I don’t have a special diet but obviously I pay a lot of attention with the food…
Breakfast i love eggs and orange juice, I eat a lot of pasta (love it ) specially during lunch…dinner I prefer rice, chicken or fish…
During the day I usually eat some fruits along with energetic drinks ( Gatorade )
It’s hard to stay away from Nutella and pizza but I try to do my best :)))
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to our inspiring and budding tennis playing girls who all are your fans, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in the field of tennis?
Sara:
For me best 2 things are having fun playing it, I can play all day long and you have to love suffering and fighting all matches…I like to stay on court and never stop fighting and never quit matches…even if it seems you cannot win there’s also a way to do it…
Plus There are a lot of ups and downs during the year and you have also to maintain balance through that…
