Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots for Maxim and on your Instagram handle @ms_sandralyn. How are you so body-confident and advice to your compatriots?
Sandra Lyn Nelson:
To confess I did not start out that way. I was and still am to a degree quite shy! Over time however, I have become more confident as I have transformed my body. I am very proud of what I have accomplished, especially at my age. I will be 46 in two months. I look and feel twenty years younger than I am. It has helped me with my self-esteem building confidence in my appearance.
I have worked very hard over the last four years to get to this point so I don’t feel as shy about displaying my new found confidence. I find it very empowering! It is my hope that by displaying my confidence, I inspire other women and motivate them to join me in my journey to physical and emotional fitness. If I can achieve this then anyone can1
Namita Nayyar:
What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?
Sandra Lyn Nelson:
I believe in the cause of Womenfitness. It has become a vital resource for women to learn and educate themselves about fitness, well-being, nutrition, fashion and self-care. As a woman, it is important to have access to learning and be self-actualized in a confident and healthy way.
Womensfitness has accomplished this and championed women for 21 years. It is now a current, informed, dynamic resource for all things women so deserving of all the support we can give them. Congratulations to you all that have created it!!
Namita Nayyar:
Today social media plays a vital role in putting your message across to your followers and fans. What is your message for the 71.9k followers on Instagram?
Sandra Lyn Nelson:
Just remember not to lose touch with reality. Always stay grounded about your physical image. On social media there are many body types and millions of beautiful women so be cautious about comparing yourself to all of them. It’s important to take stock of and be self-aware of your own attributes and your own points of beauty and be proud of them. Do not undervalue yourself because you feel that everyone is thinner, prettier, taller etc. than you.
Harvest your inner beauty through confidence. Confidence is the synergy that brings out your beauty and makes you glow. Stay grounded about how you utilize your social media accounts and don’t take it all so seriously. Have fun with it and use it to spin positive messages out to the world and to other women especially. The proper perspective will help you prevent negativity from creeping into your psyche!
