Raquel Castro is an exceptionally talented American actress and singer-songwriter. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You was born on Long Island, New York. By age four, you were regularly appearing on Sesame Street and Nick Jr. At age of seven you became a breakout star playing the lead role in Kevin Smith’s feature film, “Jersey Girl”, alongside megastars Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. At the age of 10, you were appointed the youngest correspondent ever for Entertainment Tonight’s Kid’s Choice Awards. You have worked in numerous films & television series and shows. Later your professional career propelled to the height when your first single was released in the music industry, a song titled “Diary.” Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Raquel Castro:
This industry is like riding a roller coaster. That’s the best way I can describe it. Especially starting at such a young age. You never know whats going to happen next. You may take a drop or you may be climbing to the top. I experienced success at such a young age, and then it went away for a little, and then came back and so on. As a kid that was hard to understand , but it made me who I am today. I think God had a plan and if I would have stayed in the lime light from age 7, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have selected a profession of acting, singing, song writing and television shows that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Raquel Castro:
Patience, trust in God, hard work and passion. You just really need to love what you’re doing. There was never a plan B for me.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Raquel Castro:
I try to stay on top of cardio by speed walking on a high incline on the treadmill. I also workout with light weights. Squats and lunges for the booty are my favorite. (haha).
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Raquel Castro:
Um, I try. However, I’m a foodie.. I like to eat what I want, but still be aware of what I’m putting in my body, and make sure I’m getting all the proper nutrients.
