The great thing about nail art is that there’s a style & trend for everyone. Long, short, simple, extravagant!
Here are a few trends shared by Nicola Sawyer (@nailcouturelincoln) NAILS Next Top Nail Artist (NTNA) champion in Season 9 that are big at the moment and have no sign of going anywhere soon.
Speaking to Nicola on how she stumbled upon to become a nail artist, this is what she had to say “I am a nail artist by pure chance. My husband works for beauty wholesalers and they had a gel course running that was one short on students. He asked if I was free that day and I was!”
She adds “I had no idea about nail art, but stamping and decals were very popular at the time. Luckily for me I couldn’t get them to work, put them in the bin and painted my designs by hand instead. From there my passion for nail art grew.
I still have my first nail art wheel which I show to students. Those early nails were dots and flicks using a dotting tool and gel polish.”
