Top fitness trainer/kinesiologist, International Cover model, past Miss figure America/ Miss Figure Universe Michele Levesque joins Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness in a candid conversation on fitness and motivational tips.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are a fitness trainer, International Cover model, past Miss figure America/ Miss Figure Universe and a mother. Walk us through your spectacular fitness journey so far.
Ms. Michele Levesque:
I have been in this industry for 10 years ! Can you imagine ? Time flies! I am still active in the industry-actually I have a cover coming out for the month of may. Never thought I would keep getting covers after having my daughter. But maintain a good training routine and diet is crucial for me. Right now, my focus is on my daughter. I think the first few years are the most important, that is how you create a strong bond and it is important to me to be by her side has much has I can. I have no interest in competing anymore, I love to shoot so I am going to keep doing that when the opportunity is there and I also want to help other mommies through their pregnancy and to regain their confidence back after pregnancy. I do online personal training for those interested!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Introduce us to a day in your remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle.
Ms. Michele Levesque:
I wake up at 6 am, cuddle with my daughter for a bit then our babysitter comes in and that is when I head to the gym. I do between 1 hour to 90 minutes training. When my daughter naps- I catch up on emails, work with my online clients and the rest of the day I am with my daughter. I take her out to the park, the pool, I try to stay active as much as I can with her, she loves to move around! Before diner, sometimes I will do an extra 30 minute cardio while my husband takes over. Then we spend time as a family before bed. I travel for work as well, so this is a typical day when I am not traveling/working.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Michele Levesque:
I do a conditioning class 2 to 3 times a week. It involves a lot of weights, HIIT training, plyometrics, it is very intense and I love it ! 2 days a week I do weights- I like to change it up. Right now I am into “battle roping”. I do a 3 minutes routine that I repeat 4 times and it kicks my butt ! And I do a long 5-6 mile run 1 x a week.
I workout 6 days a week – and try to vary my workouts; I’ve been working out for so long that I need something different! and right now, I am just trying to maintain what I have. I would say I keep myself pretty lean because of my healthy diet.
