Keshia Kirtz (Baker): Olympics Gold Medalist 4X400 m relay Reveals her Success Mantra " To be successful set your mind that you want to achieve it"

Keshia Kirtz (Baker) is an exceptionally talented and highly accomplished American track and field athlete. She is winner of Olympics Gold in the 4X400 m relay event. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You were born at Fairfield, Calif and did your early education from Fairfield High School and college from Oregon. You were six-time Oregon school record holder. You reached the pinnacle of success as you ran in heats for gold medal winning 4x400m US team at 2012 Olympics (3:22:09). What factors do you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
I first would not say I reached the pinnacle of success in my career, although running on the relays were quite an achievement that I am proud of I one day hope I can reach that level of success in both the individual 400meter and 4*400 meter relay. Responsible factors are first and foremost God given talent I was born with. Then that ability being fostered by my parents through providing me the outlets to be successful and the wonderful teammates and coaches I am blessed with.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
Everyday I work hard because I know the ladies I run besides are putting in 100% work too. Their is no time for excuse at this level. Sometimes sacrifices must be made which can include going to bed late and hanging out with friends. I have been told I live a pretty boring life and my response is...when your trying to be the best amongst other Lions you must eat, sleep, and breath this.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
I don't like to call my eating regiment a diet. I believe eating healthy is a lifestyle, diets are what people try to loose weight without changing their eating behaviors in life and that's why majority of diets don't work. I eat very healthy when I'm in competition. I drink over a gallon of water a day, I take vitamins to make sure I am getting all my nutrients and I eat a balanced meal. This meal includes a protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. I do nothing special that everyday individuals can't do, as a matter of fact I often go on the USDA food website to get my information on the best way to make my plate.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding girl athletes who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in the field of women athletics?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
To be successful set your mind that you want to achieve it. This it can be anything not just sports. Write it down and make a plan of how you are going to achieve this. Ask your self are you willing to make the necessary sacrifices to be one of a kind because once you reach a certain level of success everyone around you will be great so you have to decide and think will you do the things and make the changes that will set you apart from the best of the best. If you decide yes then go for it and remember their will be naysayers and obstacles so think about the end product and don't get so caught up on the road to get their.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How did you feel before and after your memorable win of Gold medal as you ran in heats for gold medal winning 4x400m team at 2012 Olympics (3:22:09) London?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
The best part about the Olympics was having my family their to experience it with me. During the majority of my competitions I'm alone, occasionally I'll have my coach or agent but rarely internationally. Being able to see my families faces when we landed, toured the city, spend time at Proctor & Gamble and Oakley event house was really a priceless experience and that's what I'll cherish and remember for ever. Before I stepped on the track I was nervous but my husband just reminded me I trained for this day I have ran numerous 400 meter races so my body was prepared. So when I stepped on the track I looked around soaked in the experience like my coaches told me, relaxed my mind and body and when the gun went off I just raced.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You story of life is an inspiration to million of young girl athletes worldwide who due to paucity of resources, tough situations and hostile environment, even when bundled with exceptional talent have been unable to achieve anything in their athletic career. You like a warrior fought all situations and came out victorious to become a Olympic 4X 400 meters Champion. Kindly provide an insight into your struggles and how you were so mentally tough to win out to become a world-champion?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
We all as individuals face some sort of adversity it doesn't matter if your rich or poor, have parents or don't, battle a disability or not. Us as individuals just have to decide will we let that problem define us. I decided as a child I was going to go to college, move from my current city, and make a GREAT not good life for myself. I read books, I found mentors, and I put in work. Being a professional athlete is not a career this will be over before I'm in my mid 30s, which is when most of society just begins their career. Sports provided me an opportunity to go to college, move from my city, and find mentors. I never forgot that one day track and field will come to an end so during that whole time I always prepared myself so I can still have that GREAT life. Which meant being financially smart, continuing my education and receiving duel master degrees, building relationships with individuals I would meet, volunteering in my field I wanted to pursue after track so I wouldn't be 30 with no work experience, and living in every moment because it won't last forever.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Who has been your biggest influence and motivation in your path to success?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
Ever chapter in my life has been impacted by different individuals that provided influence and motivation to my path of success. In my younger days it was my parents and brother. In elementary school it was my cousins and seeing other people living the life I wanted to live. In middle school it was Micheal Jordan, Lisa Leslie, and Kobe Bryant. In high school it was my coaches, teammates, and boyfriend (now husband). Their was never one individual. The important thing to remember is it takes a community of people for one individual to be successful so as You (reader) reach your level of success never forget the sacrifices and work others put in to help you become great.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With exceptional hard work you are credited with all your achievements. Do you believe that does the hand of Providence (Supreme Being) played a role in your success?

Ms. Keshia Kirtz (Baker):
I believe I was born blessed. During all my ups and downs in life I had my guardian angel watching over me. I believe my success is a combination of nature and nurture. I was born with a special ability not all are born with but I had people around me that nurtured those abilities and that's what lead to my level of success. A combination of both and without both I would have not been as successful.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
