Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Introduce us to a typical day in your life.
Ms. Kayla Jenkins:
I wake up around 9-10 am, check my social media accounts and emails, shower, tidy the house and make breakfast which is usually scrambled egg and avocado on toast. I then take my three dogs for a walk and enjoy some fresh air. When I return it’s time for work! Most of my videos are beauty tutorials, so I’ll apply my make-up step-by-step very carefully on camera and record and edit the full thing. Prepping, filming and editing takes several hours, it’s not as easy as it looks and takes dedication and patience. After work, I’ll run any errands I need to e.g: shopping and then head to the gym for a workout (if it’s a week day). After that, I’ll walk my dogs again and then cook dinner which is usually fish-based. I’ll end the day with a nice bubble bath, some TV and relaxation.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?
Ms. Kayla Jenkins:
I tend to focus more on my lower body and workout my legs a lot by doing squats, leg presses and treadmill, etc. Besides gym workouts, I’m fairly active day-to-day because I walk my dogs twice daily and constantly run around after them and my additional three cats at home too! I’m also partial to some exercise every now and then which helps burns calories and gets the heart-rate going (laughs).
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Kayla Jenkins:
I try to eat healthy, but don’t deprive myself of anything. If I want pizza and chocolate, I’ll have it, but I do it in moderation. My daily diet is very fish and seafood-based because I’m a Pescatarian, I like making Mexican food and pasta dishes, and make all my food from scratch so it’s always fresh and nutritious. Packaged food is not good, fresh is better for health!
