Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are one of Hollywood’s most sought after Health & Fitness Experts with over 25 years of experience, founder and President of The Hollywood Trainer LLC., author of The Hollywood Trainer Weight-Loss Plan and creator of “The Hollywood Trainer Club”, a Virtual Online Healthy Living & Weight Loss Club. Walk us through your incredible Fitness journey and how it all began?
Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:
I started in fitness by playing several sports basically trying to hang with my older brother Roger who was an incredible athlete. At age 16, I started working in aquatics as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and aquafitness instructor. I started teaching land aerobics at age 17 and by 18 I entered my first fitness competition called the “Ms. Galaxy”. I studied Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in Canada and during summers I would work in Florida at various Fitness Spas and gyms. I moved to Los Angeles at age 23 and started teaching classes at all of the top LA gyms, training clients, working behind the scenes and back up talent on several fitness productions.
I bought my first property at age 25 and this allowed me to start diversifying with my streams of income as I bought my second property the following year at age 26. After I purchased my second property I decided it was time for me to invest in my business and I created my first 7 workouts on VHS and DVD called “The Hollywood Trainer Cross Training Plan” which I still sell today on my website www.TheHollywoodTrainer.com and are also in my online virtual living club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com with over 330 workouts, fitness challenges and over 150 healthy recipes and meal plans. I continued to create over 17 workout DVD’s with Bikini Bootcamp2 being the most recent title and now I also create exclusive workouts like “Hot Body Bootcamp and Drop Set Chisel” that are only available in my online club.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are a fitness expert and trainer, author, entrepreneur and businesswoman. Introduce us to a day in your life.
Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:
Every day for me is different depending on the projects I am working on. I typically train 3-5 clients in the morning and then work on the remaining of my projects in the afternoon. These projects range from creating workouts for my online club, social media campaigns for other brands, speaking engagements, specialty workouts, interviews, writing articles and blogs, consulting and much more.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?
Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:
I cross train so every week includes weight training, cardio in the form of running/kickboxing/bootcamp/sports drills, yoga, pilates. Many times my workouts are the same as the workouts I provide in my online club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com because I like to know what my customer/client is experiencing so I can answer their questions, improve workouts and design new challenges.
1 Week workout regimen:
Monday: 3 mile run and Ab Blast workout
Tuesday: Bikini Bootcamp
Wednesday: Pilates
Thursday: Cardio Kickboxing
Friday: Power Yoga
Saturday: Beach Workout & Canyon Hike
Sunday: Relax
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Jeanette Jenkins:
I eat healthy consistently and on the weekend I will have a couple of treats. Healthy eating for me is three balanced meals and 2-3 snacks per day and half my body weight in ounces of water so at least 65-70 ounces of water and 1-3 cups of green tea.
All of my meal plans and recipes are in my club www.TheHollywoodTrainerClub.com. Over 150+ Healthy Meals and 52 weeks of Healthy Meal Plans and I eat exactly the same as the meal plans in my online club. A balanced meal consists of protein, healthy fat, healthy carbohydrates with fiber and all organic. A healthy day of food for me is something like this:
Breakfast: Organic Eggology Veggie Egg White Omelet with a side salad
Snack: Green Smoothie of Pear, Spinach, Celery, Kiwi, Lemon, Ginger
Lunch: Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread with Tomatoes, Lettuce, Mustard
Snack: Handful of Walnuts & Grapefruit
Dinner: Wild Alaskan Salmon with Sweet Potato and Asparagus
Snack/Dessert: Orange or Berries
I am very passionate about healthy eating because you are literally what you eat. Every cell in your body is made from the food that you eat. Many people still have not made the connection that they would feel 100% better and function at their best in good health if they ate quality food and gave their cells quality nutrients.
