Hayley Newton is world leading and highly accomplished celebrity personal trainer and choreographer of Cheryl Cole, Take That, Cliff Richards, Katherine Jenkins, Kelly Osbourne and Pixie Lott in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your journey that took you to the top of the world of celebrity fitness training ?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
It all started when I was a dancer, and learning what I had to do to stay at the top in my profession on a fitness level. There is so much work that goes into being a dancer and the make-up, costumes and spinning are not even half of it. You have to be physically fit and look beautifully toned and slim to even get hired. After travelling to LA to push my career further I actually fell into the fitness world on a much higher level by accident really. I auditioned for a Jillian Michaels DVD (not really knowing what would be expected of me at the time) and that opened all the doors necessary. From there I hopped from one infomercial to commercial to DVD. Working for trainers who were at their peak of the game I learnt from the best. It was upon my return to the UK that I realised not many people had personal trainers and the same opportunities with fitness as they do in LA. I really wanted to bring over my experience and everything I had learnt to anyone who wanted to listen.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Elaborate how you incorporate pole dancing, circus skills, dancing and aerial acrobatics into your signature exercise routines and training?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
It all depend on what the client wants. Obviously if you want personal training in your house there isn’t probably the use of a pole or aerial apparatus to hand, so therefore we wouldn’t be training in that. But if we were at a pole studio or somewhere where I can hang a hoop, that’s when using these skills really becomes a fun way in training. There is so much strength and core needed to climb up on anything where aerial is used, it can improve your fitness at double the speed out of sheer enjoyment. It something that can get your mind off of the fact you’re actually doing fitness. It’s not for everyone though, and it’s definitely not a walk in the park 😉

Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?
Ms. Hayley Newton:
Well everyday I jog for 20-30 mins with my dog Ashley. She’s a really good inspiration to get out of bed before work because she HAS to go out, and so I always think “well might as well jog along side her”! Also it helps that my fiancé Chris loves to run and so it’s something we can do as a family which always makes things more enjoyable.
Secondly, I concentrate a lot on toning and that’s all done in lifting my own body weight. I really don’t go to the gym as I have everything I need at home with just a mat, some weights and a medicine ball. I try and do a mat class for at least 30 minutes.
