Elena Hight is an American Olympic snowboarder and Silver medalist Winter X Games. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have started snowboarding at young age of six years and became the first woman to land a 900 in competition at only 13-years of age, later you reached the pinnacle of success by winning silver medal at Winter X Games Aspen 2013 in SuperPipe category in Snowboarding. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Elena Hight:
There are many things that have factored in to helping me be successful over the years. First off, I think a big part of it is just a love for the sport. I have dedicated so much hard work and time into snowboarding because I just love it and that has really turned help me turn it into a successful career. Secondly, I have had so much support from my family and sponsors that has truly made it possible for me to do what I do in snowboarding.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How did you feel when in May 2012, while training with the U.S. snowboard team in Mammoth, Calif, you became the first woman to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo in a halfpipe?
Ms. Elena Hight:
It was an amazing feeling to land my double for the first time. It truly made me believe that anything is possible.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Elena Hight:
I do a lot of different types of training for snowboarding. I run, do yoga, surf, hike, bike, and have a strength and conditioning trainer that I work with. I have always wanted my training to benefit my snowboarding but also be fun so I try to incorporate as many different activities into my life as possible.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Elena Hight:
I just try to eat clean and find that when I am doing so I feel way better. I base my meals around organic fruits, vegetables, free range meats and eggs, and limit processed foods.
