Namita Nayyar:
Do you take a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Dasha Alexandria:
I think that my body kind of tells me what I need, so I feed into my cravings. I eat everything in moderation and I mainly stick to whole foods and refrain from sugar. I use food more so as fuel for my body than an indulgence.
Namita Nayyar:
Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.
Dasha Alexandria:
Five foods I love are sweet potatoes (fries, mashed, baked), salmon, cauliflower (buffalo cauliflower, cauliflower pizza, cauliflower mash), dates with almond butter, and raspberries (with or without some dark chocolate).
Five foods that I avoid: Gluten, processed foods, excessive salt, refined sugars, and pork.
Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.
Dasha Alexandria:
Thank you. I love self-care and get excited about doing my skincare and hair care routine. Good products are obviously key. Everybody should have a different regime. It’s not a one-size-fits-all situation (depending on your skin type). But for me, I start off with a vitamin C cleanser, followed by a vitamin C serum, glycolic acid for exfoliation, a peptide serum, followed by some essential sunscreen. For hair, I love a good heat protective serum and hair oil. My current Holy Grail products are by Davines — the Oi Hair Oil and Oi All in One Milk.
Namita Nayyar:
Five skincare myths.
Dasha Alexandria:
Some skincare myths are that “dermatologist tested” makes a product trustworthy, that you can clear out blackheads with blackhead strips, that the more products, the better, that you will “outgrow” acne, and that coconut oil is a good facial moisturizer.
Namita Nayyar:
Five athletic leisure brands you love to wear.
Dasha Alexandria:
Ksubi, Alo, Joah Brown, Lululemon, and Balmain Sport.
Namita Nayyar:
Five travel destinations on your wish list.
Dasha Alexandria:
Italy, South of France, Tokyo, Bali, and Switzerland.
Namita Nayyar:
You have appeared on screen in many music videos and also in extreme sports productions like “Doonies 2” (23M views). Elaborate on your experience of working in music videos.
Dasha Alexandria:
It’s really great and feels surreal to be a part of such iconic productions. Fortunately, I’ve been able to work in amazing videos where the energy and experience is just unmatched. They’re some of my best memories and I can’t wait for more to come. I love being on screen — it feels so natural to me.
Namita Nayyar:
You have appeared on the cover of Steel Panther’s album ‘Heavy Metal Rules. Tell us more about this milestone professional achievement of yours.
Dasha Alexandria:
It has been my dream since a child to be on the cover of an album — probably since Blink 182’s album “Enema of the State” came out with the iconic nurse. Hopefully there will be more to come. I was on an album when I was in high school too for a small local band.
Namita Nayyar:
Your idea of a perfect date?
Dasha Alexandria:
I find dates kind of awkward, like a forced awkward situation, which is kind of strange to me. I would rather go on an adventure somewhere. But it’s definitely all about who you’re on a date with.
