Ukrainian-born model Dasha Alexandria has worked with such iconic brands as NASCAR, Monster Energy, and the American Motorcycle Association (Super cross), the X Games, and Bellator MMA — as well as alongside such recording artists as Korn and Blink-182. At age two Dasha’s family moved to San Francisco where her mom first began taking her to casting calls. But Dasha remembers feeling crushed when she wasn’t chosen for a Gap opportunity, and so set the career aside and moved onto other things. It wasn’t until her early 20s when she would decide to truly go for it. “I remember sitting in my office job and thinking, this isn’t what I want to be doing. So I moved to Los Angeles and started building my portfolio.” Dasha has never looked back. Aside from the countless modeling jobs she’s had since — fitness, makeup, swimwear, commercials, sports events, music festivals, movie premieres, concerts, and more — she’s also appeared on screen in music videos and even in extreme sports productions like “Doonies 2” (23M views). Dasha’s focus has now shifted to modeling in the fashion world where she intends to immerse herself next, as well as her passion for fitness, a holistic lifestyle, entrepreneurial endeavors, and philanthropy.
Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Dasha Alexandria an exceptionally talented Ukrainian-born model, here she talks about her fitness routine, her diet, her beauty secrets and success story.
Namita Nayyar:
You were born in Ukraine and grew up in California. You later moved to Los Angeles and started modeling. This later propelled your career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of modeling. You worked with such iconic brands as NASCAR, Monster Energy, the American Motorcycle Association (Supercross), the X Games, and Bellator MMA. Tell us more about your professional journey of exceptionally hard work, tenacity, and endurance.
Dasha Alexandria:
Thank you. I feel like I still have a lot of hard work to do. I’m very fortunate that I’ve had the opportunity to work with such iconic brands. It was definitely a mixture of fate and hard work. It was also a challenge, moving here from a new country and not knowing anybody. It was a different culture for me, which was also a challenge. But having that dream and always working towards it is a great feeling.
Namita Nayyar:
It is a dream for so many models to be a Bellator MMA ring girl and Monster Energy Model. Tell us more about this spectacular achievement of yours.
Dasha Alexandria:
I am first and foremost so blessed and grateful to have been a part of Bellator MMA and Monster Energy. It has been such a dream of mine to be a part of such great brands and family.
Namita Nayyar:
You are the leading social media personality, model, upcoming actress, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Dasha Alexandria:
Discipline. I like to plan out my days and have some structure to them. I also work well fast-paced because I tend to get bored kind of quickly. I think more recently, post covid, I have learned how to enjoy downtime and have gotten more aquatinted with my inner peace.
Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Dasha Alexandria:
I love Pilates, yoga and the gym. I’ve been really into hot yoga lately. I feel so much stronger after consistently practicing it for a few months. The heat really makes you sweat everything out and just feel so rejuvenated afterwards. I hardly even notice that I just did a workout. Pilates is a great, a low-impact workout that can target and tone specific muscle groups. I’ve seen a lot of definition come from Pilates that I didn’t get from the gym.
Namita Nayyar:
How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.
Dasha Alexandria:
Workout wise, Pilates is very beneficial. But I would say the secret is diet. Eating foods that agree with your body and don’t cause inflammation.
