Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started dancing at the age of two years and went on to win multiple awards in competitions across the country. You got your start on hosting Empire City’s “Lucky Break” Season 1 and Season 2 on WLNY and serving as a Fashion Correspondent for Style TV then your professional career propelled to the height when you won the hosting spot at Music Choice as the host of “You & A.” Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Clare Galterio: Music has always been a big part of my life. I was a dancer for many years and when I realized that I wanted to host, I had to put it aside. When I got the opportunity to host “Lucky Break,” a singing competition, it was such a perfect fit. When season 2 of Lucky Break wrapped I had my Music Choice audition. I wanted the job so badly! I was chosen along with three other hosts to film a test show. Then it was up to the public to vote and I was the one chosen…It still is crazy to me!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have selected a profession of hosting music show and of fashion correspondent that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Clare Galterio: I never stop practicing. Even though I am currently hosting my own show, I still work with a hosting coach and am always doing side projects to keep my mind sharp.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Clare Galterio: I “Jump.” People make fun of me for it but jumping is the only exercise I do that I can keep up. (Jumping as in on a small trampoline for 45 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week.) What I call ‘Jumping’ is also referred to as Urban Rebounding… I took a few classes and then started doing it on my own. I also like to spin and box as well.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Clare Galterio: I have been gluten free for over a year. I do my best to eat healthy but I have the WORST sweet tooth in the world so I would be a complete liar if I acted like I don’t eat poorly every now and then. Especially because my family and I are obsessed with food. We will be eating lunch and be talking about what we are going to eat for dinner.
That is why I make sure I keep up with my work outs.
