Ms. Namita Nayyar:
The past year has been a difficult one with you struggling to find your world-class form and your mother battling cancer. Through all the tough and difficult times, what was the driving force that has brought you where you are today?
Ms. Chloé Dufour-Lapointe:
The last year was not easy for us. I’m a pretty emotional person, so when last year, we knew that our mother had a cancer. I was on the World Cup, I thought I have to do this and I did it, but it was not enough, it was not my best. I was skiing, but in my mind I just wanted my mum to stay alive, to be there. So it was pretty rough. But we stuck together, and we’ve been through this cancer with our mum. During the summer, we helped her in going through the treatment. Justine and I were there for each other, because we didn’t want to cry in front of our mother, so we would cry on each other’s shoulders. But when we learnt that our mother was in recovery, so we decided let’s go to the Olympics, let’s do this.
But the truth is, I’m not a switch, because now I think it is harder to recover from that kind of injuries. But I gave my best, and the thing that got me through, to the Olympics, was my dream of being a third time Olympian, to represent my team. Maybe it wasn’t the performance that I imagined in my life and four year training, but I gave it my whole. You can never plan a cancer or something like that happening to you. So to manage, the best way that we can, it was the first time that we faced it, the cancer, so I think I did the best that I could. The one thing that drove me through was my dream to be an Olympian, to perform the best that I could and to give it all, because everytime that you give it all, you cannot be disappointed of yourself.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
With your motto “Live in the moment” and having performed so well throughout your career, who is your role model, inspiration, and motivator as an athlete?
Ms. Chloé Dufour-Lapointe:
My inspiration when I started was Jennifer Heil, she was in my mind. The power of the moguls ski athletes, I remember she was doing a 360 Degree mute and I thought this is what I want to do at the World Cup stage. I had a powerful image in my mind and I really stuck to it, throughout my career till this date. As well I have my mum, who is a very strong woman, she has been through a lot and yet she is driving us with the eye of the tiger. These two people are the biggest inspiration for me. And my sisters.
I really like to get inspired by people around me; I like to incorporate their good actions in my life, to be the best that I can be. It’s important that people get inspired by people around them, because each person has something to give to one another.

Women Fitness works relentlessly with a goal to reach out to women all over the world providing them with best in health, fitness, beauty & fashion. What do you wish to say about the website (Womenfitness.net) and message for our readers?
Ms. Chloé Dufour-Lapointe:
I think it’s always going to be ‘Dare To Dream’, because girls you can do everything you want, if you put all the hard work and if you believe in yourself. Also, it is very important to have a balanced life, starting with being healthy, dare to dream and you can be looking fashionably nice while on training. I don’t like to go to train if my outfit is not on point. It makes me feel powerful and I feel I get much more power to push me through the hard training.
Stick together girls; I am lucky I have two sisters. You can stick with your friends, enjoy with each other and push each other. It is not a competition, it’s the power of the girls. And a balance of all these things, will bring you where you want to be, which is a powerful woman. Just find your balance and keep going.
