Apart from being a super-talented and beautiful model and actress, Ashley is so much more than meets the eye. To get to know more about her, Women Fitness’ President Namita Nayyar recently joined her over for a quick and candid chat. Let’s check it out below.
Namita Nayyar:
You like to begin your day with?
Ashley Doris:
I always begin my day with at least one cup of coffee, and yes I put real sugar in it as well as creamer. I don’t skimp on those things because they genuinely make me happy, the second my feet hit the floor I’m thinking about the aroma of coffee filling my living room, and taking a moment to myself first thing in the morning.
Namita Nayyar:
The best part about being an actor?
Ashley Doris:
The best part about being an actor is that you get to be different people in different situations on a daily basis. When someone says that they’re an actor no matter if they’re on a major TV show or if they’re just starting out, what they really mean is that they are a professional “auditioner.” After you book a job and you have finished on set, you will throw yourself right back into the fray of reading scripts and auditioning constantly. It doesn’t matter how many years that I’ve been doing this, when I get a new addition my heart always jumps and I’m eager to print out the script right away and get to work!
Namita Nayyar:
Your first reaction when you were told that you are going to be Playboy’s Playmate?
Ashley Doris:
When I first heard that I was going to be a Playboy Playmate, I was shocked. I came from the era when the show “Girls Next Door” was on the “E!” channel, watching these three beautiful blonde women and their antics around (what basically looked like) a castle, was a fun part of my teen years. This also subconsciously gave me the idea that Playmates were always blonde with bountiful “assets.” When I became a Playmate, Playboy was using the slogan “God given gorgeous,” and I think that really helped me out because I’ve never had any plastic surgery or injections (kind of a rare occurrence in LA) I’ll always look back at my time at the mansion fondly, and I’m so thankful to Hef for choosing me!
Namita Nayyar:
Your skin essentials?
Ashley Doris:
Right now I’m using a Black Tea firming serum after I cleanse my face with Cetaphil face wash.
I like to roll it into my skin with an Earth Jade roller. A jade face roller also helps with blood circulation and gives a lymphatic drainage effect (basically makes your face less puffy in the morning.)
Namita Nayyar:
Favorite food you like to eat?
Ashley Doris:
In the morning I always have bacon and eggs, sometimes with a piece of sprouted grain toast if I’m feeling really wild. (Lol) A meal that I always seem to be in the mood for is a bowl of miso soup, edamame, and avocado rolls with a ton of ginger. I view ginger as the Asian version of ketchup, because it’s sweet, yet tangy, and adds a fresh bite on top of the avocado roll. Dip that in a little bit of soy sauce and it’s the perfect dinner!
