Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are a certified relationship counselor and have helped celebrity couples as well as worked on Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, ITV’s The O’Brien Show and the ever popular day time TV show, This Morning debating hot topics and taking live calls from viewers. Tell us about this incredible journey and how it all began?
Ms. Annabelle Knight: I’ve always been interested in relationships and have, for as long as I can remember been in love with love. I used to pour over the ‘Dear Deirdre’ column as a teenager and ponder over what my advice would be. I studied Media Production at university and initially wanted to work behind the camera, however a chance encounter presenting on a shopping channel made me rethink that idea. I took a course at pinewood studios in London to hone my skills and set to work applying for jobs via ‘Starnow’ online. I answered a casting call for a company called lovehoney, an online adult toy retailer. They needed someone to present product explanation videos, I got the job and the rest, as they say is history.
I started writing articles, at first for my own amusement, I put articles up on my website, www.annabelleknight.com and decided that I’d like to turn what I was doing into a career. I contacted a few talent agencies and eventually signed with Danny at Blacksheep and haven’t looked back since. I became a certified couples counselor in 2014 and have had several clients, including some famous faces which was a real boost to my confidence and my credentials. I began working on This Morning and hosted a ‘Beginners Bondage’ segment with Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley which got a lot of attention and also did a few phone ins taking calls from viewers. I’ve been working alongside Rylan for a while now on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, which I absolutely love. The Brother house is fabulous for someone like me, all that body language to analyse and sexual tension to wade through is just fabulous.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have also appeared on Channel 4’s ‘More Sex Please’ and Sky Lifetime’s ‘The Joy of Sex Toys, series one and two. Tell us about your experience of working on these shows? Also, share with us one memorable moment that you still remember.
Ms. Annabelle Knight: The documentary side of things is something that I absolutely loved and feel so lucky to have been a part of. I featured in More Sex Please, Frisky Business and The Joy of Sex Toys. My most memorable moment was having a wall fall down on me whilst I was doing a photoshoot. The shoot was being filmed and they caught everything on camera!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are world leading media personality, television host, radio host, qualified sex and relationship counselor/expert. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Annabelle Knight: It’s not as fast paced as it appears. I work from home most days writing, either an article for my blog or for a magazine so some days I don’t even get out of my PJ’s. When the TV and radio work comes in then things really pick up. Even though you may be on camera for ten minutes you have to be there for hair and makeup pretty early, plus you have to prepare what you’re going to say and have a rehearsal so ten minutes of air time may equate to five or six hours in the studio.
