Namita Nayyar:
You are the former South American record holder in the 100 metres (11.05 seconds) and the current (2017) record holder in the 200 metres. How does it feel to watch the results of your hard work as incredible benchmarks?
Ana Cláudia Lemos:
Actually my PB is 11.01 s (2015) and was the South American record until the Pan-American Games in Toronto 2015. Then until last year was the Brazilian record. Although my goal for 2019 is to became a sub10 sprinter and to brake my PB in 200m (22.48). I still want to do remarkable results.
Namita Nayyar:
To perform your best you need to fuel your body well too, your breakfast include?
Ana Cláudia Lemos:
Also, which snacks do you like to munch on during or post training?Normally I eat whole grain bread, fresh cheese, eggs and coffee&milk during breakfast. During training basically I drink a lot of water, Gatorade and sometimes some fruits. I like fruit a lot, like banana, melon, papaya and strawberry.
Namita Nayyar:
In the field of track and field, which athletes do you look upto?
Ana Cláudia Lemos:
Carmelita Jeter, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Shelly Ann-Frasier. I really admire their performance.
Namita Nayyar:
You are the reigning South American Champion in both 100 m and 200 m, what training routine do you follow presently to stay fit & strong?
Ana Cláudia Lemos:
I’m not the current South American Champion and I`m not the 100 m South American hold record anymore, but I still have the 200 m South American record. Nowadays I`m recovering from a Achilles Tendon rupture. I want to come back and get fit for the 2019 season and improve my results (100 m – 11.01 and 200 m – 22.48)
