Allira Jaques exceptionally talented and accomplished Australian actress. Famous for her roles in “Daddy’s Little Girl ” and “Come and Get Me” is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You were crowned Miss Surfest at age of 19 years and later began to pursue acting. Your first major breakthrough in films was “Come and Get Me” in 2011. Tell us about your journey that took you to where you are now in the world of acting, fashion and modeling ?
Ms. Allira Jaques:
I began modeling at 18 years of age, mostly for fun and also to build my self-confidence and esteem. I enjoyed it immensely but it wasn’t a dream I always had. As a child, I was very eccentric and dramatic. I was that kid who loved playing “dress ups” “cops and robbers” “mums and dads” etc! I always wanted to act but as I got older I did what most teenagers do and started to see things as “uncool”.
It wasn’t until I went out into the world and started to work and pursue other avenues, like modeling, that I knew who I was as a person and what I wanted. I don’t do modeling anymore, I took myself to my first audition in 2010 in Queensland and scored my first role which was “Come and
Get Me” and since then I knew that this is what I was meant to do.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have selected a profession of being an actress, into fashion and beauty that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Allira Jaques:
I try to make sure I keep a balanced life. Keeping up with the industry, continuing to learn wherever I can, getting enough rest, eating healthy, exercising and most importantly, keeping happy and spending quality time with my family! The entertainment industry is a tough one and I am lucky to have a fantastic family who have supported me and have raised me to be a strong, independent woman.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Allira Jaques:
I don’t like the gym! I love being outdoors so going for a walk or a jog is always my choice. Also upon waking up in the morning, I like to do basic exercises like squats, lunges, sit ups, push ups etc. I find if I am consistent with these exercises it really works for me.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Allira Jaques:
I am definitely not strict when it comes to diet, I never have been. I have always found that if I keep a balanced diet, it works! By balanced I mean keeping within the five food groups! Ensuring I have enough vegetables, fruit, dairy, lean meat and plenty of water. Having a healthy, balanced dinner and breakfast is very important for me and breakfast isn’t always fancy! Plain old cereal and milk or eggs on wholegrain toast is perfect. Also I don’t rule out “sometimes foods” either, I have them rarely and as treat for myself.
