Ms. Namita Nayyar: You grew up as a cheerleader and majored in Gerontology from San Diego State University. Your chance attending of “Playboy” magazine Midsummer’s Night Party at Hugh Hefner’s mansion led to you being selected as the Playmate of the Month in the May, 2006 issue of “Playboy” where you also graced the cover of the same issue and took start your career in modelling. This propelled your modelling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of fashion and glamour modeling and has also being featured in several “Playboy” videos. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Alison Waite: It’s been an interesting ride for sure! But I don’t regret any of it! I met a lot of interesting people, visited a lot of interesting places & at the risk of sounding cheesy made some of the most incredible friendships.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have selected a profession of modeling and hosting television shows that requires a lot of hard labor, technical soundness and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Alison Waite: Honestly, luck & then hard work. It’s true about what they say about simply being at the right place at the right time & that couldn’t be more true for the opportunities that have presented themselves to me. But it’s once you get those special chances, you really need to make the most out of them. Hard work, preparation & focus is needed to parlay oneself to success.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are world leading media personality, model, columnist, TV host and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?
Ms. Alison Waite: I just try to stay true to myself & core values. I consider myself to be extremely grounded & grateful. A sense of humor is a big help as well. I’m always laughing at myself & situations I find myself in. By not taking myself too seriously I find that I am adaptable to any situation.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?
Ms. Alison Waite: Big fan of yoga & hiking. I also like weight lifting & any type of Zumba class. I know everyone will say this but I like to change it up & that’s where I see the best results.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Alison Waite: I’m gluten free (pause for eye roll) but I really have a gluten sensitivity & have stayed away for the past 7 years (before it was a fad) I try to eat as healthy as possible & eat enough green veggies & protein but let’s be honest I have never turned down a Reeses’s Peanut Butter Cup. I allow myself to have little treats & then just make sure to offset it with 5 more min. on the treadmill. Life is too short to completely restrict yourself from any indulgences, plus aren’t they saying that chocolate & red wine not only pair nicely but are healthy for your heart (& sweet tooth as well.)
