Tina Maze is 2013 Most Stunning Ski Racer in the World
Tina Maze is a World Cup alpine ski racer from Slovenia and is one of 6 women
who have won in all five World Cup events. She has 17 World Cup victories and is
the current world champion in giant slalom as well as the current World Cup
overall leader in the 2013 season.
Born in Slovenj Gradec, then in SFR Yugoslavia, Maze made her World Cup debut at
age 15 in January 1999. She competed in the 2001 World Championships at age 17

In terms of World Cup victories, the current 2013 season is her best, with six
victories by mid-January 2013. Maze won the first four giant slaloms (Slden,
Aspen, St. Moritz, and Courchevel) and the super combined in St. Moritz to give
her a sizable lead in the overall standings. Her first victory in a Super-G on
13 January 2013 in St. Anton made her a member of the small group of all-event
winners in alpine skiing.
When not competing or training abroad, Maze lives in Črna na Korokem. She is in
an intimate relationship with her current Italian coach, Andrea Massi. Massi is
16 years older than her and comes from Gorizia, a town on the border between
Slovenia and Italy. He is a citizen of Italy, and speaks fluent Italian and
Slovenian.
While in primary school, in addition to skiing, Maze also played the piano.
During preparations for the 2013 season she recorded her first song "My Way Is
My Decision". She also blogged about the story on her trip into music. The news
of Maze becoming "popstar" or "rockstar" was a celebrity news in her country and
she got some attention in foreign media too.
The song "My Way Is My Decision" was produced by Raay, one of the top Slovenian
