Top 10 Fashion Colors for Spring 2016
For Spring 2016, the Pantone pros say there are truly no distinctions in
color
choices between the men's and women's collections, both of which focus on a
desire to breathe and reflect, then play.
This is the first time the colour institute has chosen a pair of
complementary shades; pale blue-lilac Serenity and powder pink Rose Quartz. The
shades are predicted to feature heavily across
beauty,
fashion and lifestyle products next year, suggesting salons should stock up
on nail polish and make-up in these subtle shades.
Rose Quartz. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding
flower, this hue is said to reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the
busy but lighthearted spring and summer months. This really is a beautiful pink
that will radiate well on the skin for women as well as men.
Peach Echo. A shade that emanates friendlier qualities,
evoking warmth and accessibility. This is an all-encompassing, tempered
companion in the playful orange family.
Serenity. Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue
sky, this transcendent blue provides us with a naturally connected sense of
space. Serenity is a calming colour that plays to the whole idea that we know
were still living in turbulent times. Blues simply relay that feeling of
relaxation.
Snorkel Blue. This maritime-inspired blue plays in the navy
family, but with a happier, more energetic context. Less serious than navy, this
colour serves as one of the anchor colours for the spring palette.
Buttercup. While the majority of the Spring/Summer palette
trends toward calmness, a few diversions from the theme emerge that offer a
contrast. This colour is all about sunlight, happiness and cheer this one just
speaks to give us a ray of sunshine, something to be hopeful about. It really
energises.
Limpet
Shell. This shade of aqua that leans toward the green family, is clear,
clean and defined. Suggestive of clarity and freshness, its crisp and modern.
Lilac Gray. Essentially a basic, the subtlety of the lilac
undertone adds a distinctive edge to this classic gray shade having a hint of
the purple family that is soft and subtle.
Fiesta. A strong and fiery, yellow-based red, the vivid color
provides a stark contrast to the calming, softer nature of this season's
palette. This colour is more warm-based than a cha, cha, cha red. Its very
free-spirited.
Iced Coffee. With its natural earthy quality, the softness and
subtlety of Iced Coffee creates a stable foundation when combined with the rest
of this season's palette. Iced Coffee has a warmth that combines well with
everything else.
Green
Flash. Its a fantastic colour to combine with others and it may be the
driver to buy something new. The popularity of this brilliant hue is
representative of nature's persistent influence, a trend continuing to inspire
designers.
Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place
where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves.
