Namita Nayyar:
Do you take a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Valentina Beli:
I don’t like the word “diet”, I would say I’m following a healthy lifestyle. The rule is simple: more proteins and good fat, fewer carbs, sugar, Trans fat and processed food. And a lot of water!
My usual “food routine” consists of salmon, nuts (unsalted), eggs, sometimes meat, fresh veggies and fruits (just a little bit, it’s still sugar), cheese, coffee, and water.
I eat sweets and chocolate, sometimes even burgers but I moderate it. If you are fully strict with your diet, your energy, your mind would be concentrated on those restrictions. Instead to think “ I can’t let myself a piece of cake”, think “I can treat myself with dark chocolate”. Give your brain a fake choice. Don’t ask him “do you want a cake or a salad?” Ask him “do you want a Tuna or Cesar salad”? And be careful with dressing and sauce, they have about 50% of the calories. Try lemon juice instead.
Basically, it is a bit challenging to describe a lifestyle in a few words. But I would recommend having a consultation with a psychologist and nutritionist first if you have any food disorders.
Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.
Valentina Beli:
Oh thank you so much to give me a compliment about my skin and hair. It means a lot to me. I suffered from severe acne, I have large pores and oily skin. I visited so many doctors hoping to find the solution for clear skin. Nothing works. Then I decided to educate myself. I have been learning about skincare routines and regimes since 2012. I discovered so many methods and ways how to improve your skin glow and health. And I decided I can do it professionally. I am attending a beauty school in New York right now and I hope to help many people, hopefully from next year.
And about hair, I was lucky to be born with good hair. But I tried my best to damage it lol. Full-time modeling and healthy hair don’t really go together. But I would recommend using professional hair shampoo and conditioner, eat more “good fat” food like salmon, nuts, avocado, eggs. Also, I would recommend getting a blood test to understand what microelements or vitamins you would need right now.
Namita Nayyar:
You go to different countries for your professional career, like Paris, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Beijing, Dubai, Moscow, and New York. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures, it must be difficult, and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Valentina Beli:
Oh it’s the best time in your career: you are young, full of energy, passionate about modeling! Just enjoy a new culture, try to understand it, stay open-minded. It is a good life adventure and probably it won’t repeat. So enjoy a moment.
