Tori Bowie is an exceptionally talented Track and Field Athlete. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were born in Sandhill, Mississippi and attended Pisgah High School, where you began competing in track for the school. You won two state high school championships in the 100 m dash, 200 m dash and the long jump, as well as three state titles in the 4x100m relay. You went on to become a world class sprinter, specializing in the long jump, 60, 100 and 200-meter run. You reached the pinnacle of success at the 2015 IAAF Championship in Beijing where you stood 3rd in 100 m in 10.86 seconds. What factors do you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Tori Bowie: A wonderful supporting team and determination. To achieve any goal in life, you must focus and work consistently towards that goal to ensure, not necessarily success but progress.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine that you might like to share?
Ms. Tori Bowie: 5 days a week workout for 5 hours per day. Weight room training and track workout which consists of a 5 minute jog, light stretches, 4-6 strides and a varied track workout.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow in order to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Tori Bowie: During training I try to stay away from fried and all sugar related foods.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding girl athletes who are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in the field of women athletics?
Ms. Tori Bowie: Be patient…and persistent. Allow yourself to make mistakes, but also be humble enough to correct those mistakes.
