Tina Maze is an alpine ski racer. She is twice Alpine Ski World Champion and twice Olympic Gold medalist. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You started ski at a very young age of four years as you reached the pinnacle of success in 2014 by winning two Olympic Golds in Women’s alpine skiing in Downhill and Giant slalom category at Sochi. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Tina Maze:
The factors are numerous but I think that the set of certain qualities will enable you to achieve the goals that you have always fixed: determination, perseverance, professionalism, precision, hard work and a lot of passion. Being surrounded by valuable people that believe in your abilities is essential and without the help and expertise of my team, I would have never been able to realize my dreams.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are the most successful female ski racer in Slovenian history. In Slovenia, you were awarded the title of the best female athlete of the year for 2005, 2010, 2011 and 2013 and have four Olympic medals. You are one of just six women who have won in all five World Cup disciplines and one of three to do it in a single season.
Currently, you are the reigning world champion in super-G and Olympic champion in downhill and giant slalom. What facilities exist for alpine skiing in Slovenia that acted as a catalyst in your achievements?
Ms. Tina Maze:
My success has certainly helped a lot with my reputation and I cannot deny I have been receiving a lot of special attention in Slovenia. However, what is important for me is to be an example for the children and for all the ones who have dreams to achieve. My future goal is to convey my passion and help the less fortunate children to fight so they can fulfill their wishes.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Tina Maze:
Not only one exercise exists, but the combination of factors that enable to improve and perfectionism your physical qualities. Force, skill, resistance, equilibrium, explosiveness, reactivity are fundamental points for a high level athlete. During the summer I love dedicating myself to fitness.

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Tina Maze:
I don’t follow any specific diet in particular. I love eating well and healthy and Italian cuisine is without doubt my favorite. I also always carry with me a Milka chocolate tablet to recharge myself with energy.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Tina Maze:
I don’t have a real beauty routine, I try to take care of my body and my skin using high sun protection. I never forget lip balm, essential on the ski’s slopes. I believe my hair and my skin are the reflection of my health.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding professional alpine skiing girls who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of alpine skiing?

You won the European Athlete of the Year by European Press Agencies led by PAP in women’s category and nominated for Laureus World Sports Award for Sportswoman of the Year 2014. How do you feel on receiving these awards and what responsibilities such awards bestow upon you?
Ms. Tina Maze:
Proud and an enormous pride for myself.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your endeavour about your first song “My Way Is My Decision” recorded during the preparations for the 2013 season, it was produced by Raay, one of the top Slovenian producers and the music written by Matjaž Jelen & Raay with lyrics by Charlie Mason & Leon Oblak ?
Ms. Tina Maze:
The idea of the song started off as a joke but in the end it was a huge success. It was No.1 in the Slovenian rankings for several months. I am for this unexpected success and I had a lot of fun in the creation of the video and song: in the end music has always been my second great passion. “My way is my decision” reflects my thought and my life perfectly.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influencer and motivator in your success in the field of your career in competitive alpine skiing ?
Ms. Tina Maze:
Without the help of Andrea Massi I don’t think I would have been able to obtain a lot: he pushes me and helps me go beyond my limits every day. I also owe my family a lot. They have always been there for me; they follow and support my decisions and passions. Their love is very important for me.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
