Ms. Namita Nayyar:
It is often said that there is cut-throat competition and you have to work really hard to survive here. What would be your best tips for a newcomer entering Hollywood?
Ms. Tiffany Dion:
There’s definitely a lot of people here with the same goals and passions that I have, so there is a lot of competition. The tips I would give are to remember why you are here in the first place. The most important thing is that you are enjoying what you’re doing, regardless of the stature. Study your craft, take classes and get out and network. You’re going to attend a lot more auditions than booking the job, but that just makes the things you book even more special, right?
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Introduce us to a day in your life, while shooting and on a day off.
Ms. Tiffany Dion:
When I’m shooting, everything I do is pertaining to the life I’m living on that particular production. After hair, makeup, and wardrobe I spend a lot of time reflecting and making sure that I know my character so well that their actions and reactions are completely natural. Filming usually starts early in the morning (way earlier than I would wake up on a normal day) and can take up most if not all of the day. Getting to know who you’re working with better makes it an even more enjoyable experience. I love being able to share ideas with the crew to try new things and having a creatively collaborative experience. On my days off, I focus a lot on music. Whether I’m learning how to play new songs on the ukulele/keyboard or filming videos for my YouTube channel, I am always trying to grow musically. I love going to the movies, spending time outside, and browsing at my local thrift shops.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?
Ms. Tiffany Dion:
When I hit the gym, the treadmill and elliptical machine are my go-to’s. I also spend time with the free weights. I really enjoy being outside and go on lots of walks (and runs) every day with my puppy. Mostly runs because she’s hard to keep up with. I also do lots of stretching, dancing around my room, and squats! I hope to get back to dance classes at the local studios too and looking forward to learning kick boxing, looks like fun and a great workout!
