Ms. Namita Nayyar: At age of 14 years you joined the Modeling Agency 62 Models in Auckland, New Zealand and in early 2006, you appeared in a super bowl commercial for Tabasco, this propelled your modelling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of modelling. Tell us something about this professional journey?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Modeling was an unexpected journey since I was very academic, but has been a wonderful “life scholarship”. When I was in high school, it was a great lucrative part-time job and excitingly glamorous. Once it went to the professional level, it got more serious and the competition is harder but the rewards are bigger as well. It was hard being so far across the world in Europe or New York when I was young.

Its a very lonely job even to this day since you are traveling alone so often. I’ve always been lucky that I have made money and worked consistently. From my experience if you can make it the first year, you will be golden for a long time.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You moved from New Zealand to United States. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new country, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Americans were much more direct and “rude”, aka “assertive” from my modest New Zealand culture. It was shocking but then the level of professionalism and enthusiasm for self growth in the USA was stimulating me to do more and be a better business woman.

Making friends and acclimating with local trends, topics and ways of life takes a year or two. I think the best advice is to be brave, try new things, trust your instincts on good and bad people and fill your spare time with things you enjoy so you will adjust to the change easier and meet people in a positive area of your life. Join a yoga or mediation class, take lessons in something you enjoy, act like a tourist on your time off and explore.

Teresa Moore on Women Fitness:

I think giving motivation to people to stay fit, eat nutritious and feel good about themselves is wonderful. We should maximize our health while maximizing what we do with our life to enjoy our time on this planet.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are world leading media personality, model and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Teresa Moore: I think variety is the spice of life! I love getting involved in things that interest me and which allow me to meet new people. I always try to maximize opportunities and be as professional and fun as possible to make the people around me have an easier day.

I once read that your life is like a flower with petals. Each petal represents a facet of you and you should spend time and energy on each one. Health, Career, Intimate Relationship, Friends, Family, Finances and Spirituality. Rank each out of 10 on how well those areas are in your life now, and out of 10 how much time and energy you put into them.. The answers are very clear on how to be balanced.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Ms. Teresa Moore: I run about 3-4 miles 5 days a week outside. I do a very hard 50 minute Pilates class once or twice a week. If I am traveling, I do Tracy Anderson videos which are a quick 30 minutes and are really fun and effective.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Yes. I have followed the Paleolithic diet for the last 5 years and love it. I offer awesome advice on: http://www.teresatastes.com/about/

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Skin: Cetaphil cleanser and SPF moisturizer, Caudalie Eye Cream, Estee Lauder Night Rejuvenating Serum. I like to get a microdermabrasion facial 2-3 times a year.

Hair: I put Organic Coconut or Argan Oil in my hair when I workout to give it a deep mask. I use Renpure Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and I love the Kerastase Mask which is sooo expensive but very effective.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to our inspiring and budding fashion models who all are your fans: how to climb to ladder of success in field modeling?

Ms. Teresa Moore: If you have the genetics – slim, 5’9 (175cm) or taller and have good proportions, then I recommend to send you images of you with very simple pretty makeup and jeans and a tank top to the top modeling agencies in www.models.com or in your local area. If you have what it takes, keep up your daily workout and eating plans and test with photographers to get great images and work on your book.

Once you really start working as a model, be professional, on-time, grateful and nice to the people around you. Its competitive and sometimes soul destroying because of the rejection and inconsistency, but the rewards are worth it if you can make it.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have been voted the sexiest woman in New Zealand and the 23rd sexiest woman in the world in 2010 by E! Entertainment TV. How did you feel before and after this achievement of yours ?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Haha, I thought it was very funny and flattering! The show and interview was really fun. I’m very grateful.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have done bold photo shoots with Moontide, Morrissey, Triumph, H&M, Valisere, Bali, Rigby and Pellor, Sisley and Calzedonia, how you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Ms. Teresa Moore: Feeling confident about what you look like comes from knowing you try your 100% best on your fitness and eating plan, and after that its up to God! I think once you let go of “complaining” you have mental and emotional space to stay positive and comfortable in your own skin. I eat Paleo all the time, eat light the night before a body shoot (salad or green juice), workout 1 hour a day and I keep myself busy with other things to not obsess. Thats the healthiest and funnest way to look your best.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?

Ms. Teresa Moore: I think giving motivation to people to stay fit, eat nutritious and feel good about themselves is wonderful. We should maximize our health while maximizing what we do with our life to enjoy our time on this planet.
