Sydnee Michaels was born 15th June 1988. She is an American professional golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour as of 2012. Michaels was a graduate of the 2011 LPGA Futures Tour.
An active young girl from early on, Sydnee competed at an international level in figure skating, was a promising young tennis player, and was also a State Champion tap dancer.
Sydnee started playing golf at age 8 and has never looked back. Sydnee credits her father, Alex, as the most influential person on her game. Although Alex does not play, nor does anyone else in Sydnee’s family, Alex had some practice with Sydnee’s 7 older siblings. Based on her athletic ability and height, Michaels thought golf would be a sport his athletic daughter could excel in professionally. Sydnee hung up her tap shoes and tennis shoes and started solely concentrating on golf when her family moved to the small, golf friendly town of Murrieta, CA when Sydnee was 10 years old.
Sydnee began excelling right away and went on to enjoy successful junior and amateur careers. She started competing in local junior tournaments and was soon winning most she was playing in and even some of the older divisions as well. She spent hours practicing out of the Murrieta Valley Driving Range. Michaels was already beginning to get a reputation for hitting a long ball, and would soon begin to compete against the boys. At 13, her parents Alex and JoAnne started putting Sydnee in AJGA events (American Junior Golf Association) and she went on to be a two time All-American.
She competed on the US Junior Solheim Cup Team as well as on the Canon Cup Team during her AJGA career. She was ranked as high as 2nd in the country in the Rolex Junior Rankings by the end of her junior career. Sydnee competed on her boys High School golf team at Linfield Christian High School in Temecula, CA. She was league MVP twice, and she won the League Championship her senior year. The highlight of her junior career was making the cut in the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2006 as a sponsors exemption. Sydnee also took time to enjoy some extracurricular activities outside of golf in High School. She was Freshman Class President, a Cheerleader her Sophomore year, Football Stat-Girl her Junior year, and had the lead role in her Drama Class’s Fall production her Senior year. Sydnee graduated high school in 2006.
Going on to collegiate golf, Sydnee got a full ride scholarship to play for Coach Carrie Forsyth at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA.) As a Bruin she recorded two career victories and received All-American honors twice. One of her victories set a 54-hole school record at 13 under par. In 2008 she competed in the NCGA Japan vs USA matches in Tokyo, Japan where Sydnee was awarded MVP for Team USA and nominated as the US Ambassador by Team Japan. Sydnee was a Quarterfinalist in the US Women’s Amateur Championship, a Quarterfinalist in the US Women’s Pub Links Championship, played in 3 US Women’s Opens as an amateur, and was the 2010 Canadian Women’s Amateur Champion. Sydnee received a B.A. in History from UCLA, graduating in 2010.
Sydnee turned pro in August 2010, competing in the CN Canadian Women’s Open for her pro debut. She went on to play a full schedule on the LPGA Futures Tour (now Symetra Tour) in 2011. She recorded two victories (final two events of the season) including the Tour Championship in Albany, NY. She was also awarded 2011 Rookie of the Year. Sydnee placed 4th on the over-all money list granting her a full status card to play on the LPGA Tour in 2012.
Sydnee now plays full time on the LPGA Tour as a rookie this year in 2012. She plays out of Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, CA. She trains four times a week with her trainer at Dynamic Fitness in Temecula, CA when she is home. Sydnee works on her swing with her coach E.J. Pfister and short-game with James Sieckmann. Off the course Sydnee enjoys working out, yoga, music, sports, fashion, photography, visiting friends, red wine and reading a good book.

Sydnee Michaels ranked as Top 10 sexiest Female athletes of 2013. Winner of Price Chopper Tour Championship in 2011 and Vidalia Golf Championship 2011. She is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You as a child was trained in figure skating, but when you were eight years old your father told you that you shall grow too tall for the sport and you started golf. You reached the pinnacle of success by winning Price Chopper Tour Championship in 2011. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Starting competitive sports at a young age was definitely a factor in shaping my mind and attitude to be a professional athlete. I had already had a long junior, amateur and collegiate career leading up to my first season as a pro. When I started playing, my goal was to play on the LPGA Tour full time. After failing to get through Q school the year I turned pro after graduating, winning on the Symetra tour to get my card would be my next avenue to play on tour.
I finished that 2011 season on the Symetra Tour with back to back wins to secure my spot to play on the LPGA. It was a pretty special way to end the season and to this day Sunday of the Price Chopper (September 11, 2011) is one of the best days of my life because that is when I feel life began for me.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have a bachelor’s degree in History and Sociology. You played college golf at the University of California, Los Angeles. You had a successful collegiate career at the University where you recorded two wins and also was a two-time NGCA All-American Second Team selection (2008,2010). Tell us about this period of your golfing career?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Playing for one of the best university’s in the nation was a privilege. UCLA was my number one choice coming out of high school. I made life long friends there on my team and in the athletic department. Being a college athlete is a wonderful experience. It was a challenge balancing school and golf but I learned how to manage my time and mature as a young adult. Finishing my degree is definitely one of the top accomplishments in my life.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Working out is one of my favorite things to do. I like to run and I also do a lot of circuit training. For golf, stability and core are very important as well as strengthening your back. Yoga is fantastic for golf, not only physically but mentally and spiritually for me as well. I try to work out 2-3 times during tournament week and almost every day during off weeks.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
I try not to “diet” as I need a lot of energy during tournament weeks. However I stay away from sweets and fried, heavy foods. My favorite meal before a tournament is chicken and pasta, I need both protein and carbs for energy. On the course I eat either a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana or a protein bar and a banana and lots of water! I also try to eat a good balanced breakfast.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Thank you! For my hair, I don’t wash every day and I use a leave in conditioner. I also try to let my hair air dry as much as possible. For my skin I try to take very good care of it because I am in the sun so much. I load up on sunscreen and moisturizer. My favorite night time moisturizer is Kiel’s avocado night moisturizer and Vaseline!
I use Neutrogena face sunscreen at least SPF 85. I always wear a hat or a visor and sunglasses even when I’m outside running. I don’t wear make up very often and wash my face and use a toner twice a day to make sure my skin doesn’t get too congested since I am sweating a lot on the course and in the gym! I’m hoping my dedication will pay off when I am older!
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding professional golfers who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of professional golf ?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Becoming a successful professional is not easy and I am still climbing the ladder. I have definitely enjoyed some success but a lot of set backs as well. I’m just trying to roll with the punches and take every set back as a learning experience and try to build on that. In this sport you will probably have more set backs than success, so you just have to learn to roll with it and keep moving forward.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How did you feel before and after wining on August 28th, 2011 the Vidalia Golf Championship?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
Before Vidalia, I was preparing myself mentally to have to go back to Q school. I only had two events left of the season and even though I was playing well and had a few good finishes I knew I still needed to at least win one of the last two events to get my card. I don’t know if I took the pressure off myself by accepting I was going to have to go to Q school or what..
In fact that week I only played a 6 hole practice round haha but I think I just went out there and played golf, not thinking about anything else or trying to do anything. I played fantastic that week and I won by 8 strokes. It was pretty amazing.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What events led you to win Futures Tour Rookie of the Year award 2011?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
I finished the season 8th, 2nd, 11th, 1st, 1st in my last 5 events of the season. I was the top rookie in my class that year finishing 4th on the money list, so I was awarded Rookie of the Year.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influencer and motivator in your success in the field of your career in competitive professional golf ?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
I always say that I don’t have one hero, I have several. There are several people in my life that have influenced my game and my career. I try to take something from several people not just one. My dad, who got me started and gave me my competitive edge, my mom who has supported me 100 percent since day 1, my college coaches, my swing coaches, short game coaches, fellow players, trainers, my fiancé.. Several people have been involved in the growth of my career and game.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us what factors were catalyst that you consider led you to be named by the Men’s Fitness as one of the Top 10 sexiest Female athletes of 2013 and how did you feel about it?
Ms. Sydnee Michaels:
I have no idea!! But I was honored to be chosen and included in that group.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
