Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have worked extensively in international music videos, most recently in drag racing against Snoop Dogg for his hit single, “Let The Bass Go” from the Dreamworks movie, “Turbo”. Tell us about this endeavor of yours ?
Ms. Silvia Kal: Music is a very important part of my life, so being able to be a part of the visual creation is pretty amazing. When I was a kid I was always saying that I wanted to do music videos, and now I’ve done so many! If I had known this back then, I would’ve been so happy. It’s really fun. I like the parts in slow motion, because you have to act big and exaggerate the moves. If you are doing a fighting scene in slow motion you have to move your hands and hair a lot and go crazier than normal, haha.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us about your experience working and co-producing the television show, “Subimos Al Cielo” with Spanish TV host Evelyn Lopez?
Ms. Silvia Kal: It´s been fun and a lot of hard work. We met through a friend in Los Angeles and decided we were gonna create a TV show based here and in Spain. We wanted something new, something that we had never seen before in our country. We interview celebrities and go to nice events. The show has some comedy so I have a great time interviewing people and so do they. It’s the first time I’ve produced something like this and I only now realize how many problems producers have to deal with. I really admire them now!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You moved from Spain to United States for your professional career. For a model and as an actress adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?
Ms. Silvia Kal: My advice is to be brave. If you want to move to another country to pursue your dream, just do it. Who knows if things are going to be good or not but at least you are not going to live your whole life regretting that you didn’t try… Follow your dreams and make them happen. Your future is in your hands. Don’t be afraid of the language or the culture, everybody can learn it and adapt. Moving to Los Angeles is the best thing I’ve ever done, and of course, I was scared too. But every day I think “I’m so glad I did it…”
