Description
Katka Konecna-Rivera is an architect focused on sustainable design as well as a filmmaker, writer, personal wellness coach, co-founder of Living Green with Baby, and mom to Luca, age 5 years and baby Kai. Katka lives with her family in Puerto Rico and also divides her time between New York and Prague. Born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic, Katka performed in theater since age seven. Her fascination for arts led her to attend School of Fine Arts, where she mastered everything from classical charcoal drawing to oil painting and metal sculpture. Later, she went on to study engineering to have an understanding of the technical background and principles for her creations, followed by studies in architecture at Czech Technical University. She spent two years gaining practical experiences in the United States and as a guest student at Harvard and Southern California Institute of Architecture. Upon returning to Prague, she took film studies at Academy of Performing Arts while completing her degree in architecture. After graduation she moved to New York City to practice architecture and launched her own furniture collection. She studied dramatic writing at New York University and it was here–with all her experience to bear–that she began writing, producing, and directing her own films. While expecting her first baby, she co-founded Living Green with Baby, which also inspired her book writing. The Art of Pregnancy After 40 is her first published book from The Simple Green Life Book Series.
