Six Months to Wellness

Over 50, after menopause surgery and multiple injuries (but especially because of an insane craving for chocolate), the author found herself almost 100 pounds overweight. In 2015, Jory Ames, Ph.D. began her journal and journey to lose 60 pounds in 6 months, by going vegan, dedicating herself to exercise, and writing down everything she ate. But she was surprised by the dramatic changes in her health and attitude besides weight loss. This book details the sometimes challenging journey to wellness of the author. I wanted a manual that I could follow or not, agree with or not, but at least know. I didn’t want just ‘I lost 50 pounds and so can you’ stories … I wanted the specific, truthful, day-to-day how.
