Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding biathletes who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in this field?
Ms. Selina Gasparin:
Trust your process. Enjoy the training moments, work hard and don’t be afraid of the pain (which can be a nice feeling) and focus on small steps. Every progress is like a small stone and they all together make the picture like a mosaic.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
How did you feel before and after winning the silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi?
Ms. Selina Gasparin:
After 2 World Cup victories I had big hope and motivation for the Olympics but I also knew that I need so much to perform the best on a certain day. After I lost the chance for a medal in the sprint race because I didn’t hit the last shot by some millimeter I didn’t really believe to be able to show my best performance in the coming races. I had the biggest hope for the sprint race. But I just continued to do my best and it was the best day in my life when I won the silver medal. I can’t describe it in words when you work so hard for many years and then finally the biggest dream comes true. It’s just a fantastic moment which I will never forget.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in the field of your career?
Ms. Selina Gasparin:
I had about 30 coaches (wich is a lot) and I learned from everybody and also from other people around me. It’s a long process and you need to collect all advice you get but the biggest help I got from my husband, who is a cross country skier. Together we worked hard and pushed each other to the maximum and we both won a medal in Sochi. That was magic.
