Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have selected a profession of TV correspondent and hosting shows that require a lot of hard labor, technical soundness about different sports and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?
Ms. Poppy Jamie: I have still got a long long way to go but I have been fortunate to hop on the notoriously difficult and competitive ladder. The job is very stressful at times but I love interviewing and hosting shows so all the bad bits are quickly forgotten!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started when you were 19 years of age, you became the youngest ever entertainment correspondent at one of the UK’s largest news organisations ITN. Your professional career propelled to the height where you have been leading the world of TV journalism and broadcasting and as a TV presenter and has been working between America and the UK for ITN, ITV2 and MTV. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?
Ms. Poppy Jamie: My career so far has really been down to the people around me. I had an amazing producer called Lisa Snell at ITN whom I learnt so much from. She nurtured my skills by watching all my interviews and would give constructive feedback. It was often was not complimentary but I needed the harsh words because it made me improve and go on to do bigger things. perseverance despite setbacks has also been key to the last 4 years and being open to meeting new people. The best thing about my journey so far is the people I’ve met! From hippies in Texas, to movie stars, to meditative healers, to pop singers, people make the world interesting!
Ms. Namita Nayyar: You posses a perfect physique. What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?
Ms. Poppy Jamie: I love love love yoga. I try and yoga 3 times a week or more if I have time. It’s great for the mind and for the body. I certainly don’t think I have a perfect physique but my trainer Russell of SBC has helped me get in shape by his awesome interval exercises.
Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?
Ms. Poppy Jamie: No! I wish I had the discipline to. I try and have a low carb diet where possible and fill my plate with vegetables and fruit. I enjoy eating healthy food but I do have a sweet tooth!
