Vitamin D Boosts Women Diabetics Health
– Reported June 29, 2013
Because diabetics are at a higher risk of vitamin D deficiency, researchers enrolled 46 women who had diabetes and insufficient blood levels of vitamin D. The participants were given weekly vitamin D supplements over six months. At the end of the study, the womens scores on a depression symptom survey decreased by more than half. Their blood pressure also decreased, going from 140.4 mm Hg to 132.5 mm Hg, and participants lost an average of three pounds.
