Playing Games is Good for the Brain
– Reported, January 17, 2012
Nouchi and his team selected 32 elderly people to participate in their four week study. During this period, the participants played either Brain Age or Tetris, for 15 minutes per day, at least five days a week. At the end of the four weeks, Nouchi and his colleagues found that the Brain Age players showed small improvements in their executive functions and processing speeds, but other cognitive functions were unchanged.
According to researchers, the relatively short training time used in the study suggests that it may be possible to improve some cognitive functions quite rapidly.
