Milka Duno Joins Univision Deportes Formula One Broadcast Team

Multiple race winning driver Milka Duno has joined the Univision Deportes Formula One broadcast team as the commentator for their live F1 pre-race shows and live race broadcasts.
Dunos role in the broadcast booth began with the first F1 race of 2014 the Australian Grand Prix and has continued with each race on the seasons schedule.
The next F1 race on the calendar the Grand Prix of Monaco will air live on Univision Deportes Network and UniMás on Sunday, May 25 at 7:30am EDT.
The 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship includes 19 races in 19 countries from March through November. Univision Deportes Network will televise the qualifying rounds and all 19 F1 races air live on Univision Deportes Network and UniMás. Select races will be streamed online on UnivisionDeportes.com and on the digital network Uvideos.com.
With a wealth of racing experience and success Duno brings a unique drivers perspective to the on-air broadcasts and she joins veteran play-by-play announcer Israel Romo and F1 analyst Gustavo Roche.

About Milka Duno
Duno has eight major race wins in the highest classes (Prototype) in the American Le Mans Series and Rolex Series and the highest finish ever by a female driver (2nd Place) in the famous 24 Hours at Daytona – in the now 51-year history of the race. She is also the first Hispanic female driver to compete in the legendary Indianapolis 500 in its now 101-year history. Milka went on to qualify for and compete in the Indianapolis 500 and IndyCar Series for three consecutive seasons.
Currently making the transition from open-wheel racing to stock car racing and competing in her first full stock car racing season in 2013, Duno finished 7th in the ARCA Racing Series driver point standings. With her stellar finish in the standings she became the 2nd highest finishing female driver and highest finishing Venezuelan driver in ARCAs 61-year history.
Duno started her 2013 season 2nd in the ARCA season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and took the lead on the first lap and led 11 laps until the first caution. She also earned the pole and led laps at Talladega Superspeedway and became only the fourth female driver and first Hispanic female driver in ARCA Series history to win a pole – and only the second female driver in 25 years to earn an ARCA Series pole at the historic stock car track.
Her next goal in 2014 is to become the first Latin/Hispanic female driver to compete in NASCARs Nationwide Series in the USA.
Earlier this year Duno was elected to the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobiles (FIA) Women & Motor Sport Commission and attended the first meeting of 2014 in Doha, Qatar. The FIA is a non-profit association established in 1904 to represent the interests of motoring organizations around the world. Headquartered in Paris the FIA consists of 213 national member organizations in 125 countries worldwide. Its most prominent role is in the licensing and arbitration of the Formula One and World Rally Championship series. The International Olympic Committee provisionally recognized the federation in 2011, and granted full recognition in 2013.
In addition to being the most successful female sportscar racer in history, Duno is also a qualified Naval Engineer with four master’s degrees – in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Aquaculture and Maritime Business earning the last three degrees simultaneously.
