Laura Carmichael stuns in bright lemon dress
– Reported – January, 14 2015
Laura Carmichael wore bright lemon dress and looked stunning. She plays dowdy, unlucky-in-love Lady Edith Crawley on Downton Abbey. But in real life, Laura Carmichael has a serious eye for style and cemented her fashion icon status in a bright yellow gown at ELLE’s Annual Women in Television Celebration held at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California. The actress looked incredible in her daring dress, which flattered her slender frame thanks to its cut-out panels at the waist and elegant below-the-knee fit.
The 28-year-old blonde showed off just a hint of skin thanks to two delicate side splits. Laura completed her look with a pair of chunky black heels and a slick of bright lipstick, and wore her blonde hair in tousled waves. The star has been in the States for a series of awards shows, including the Golden Globes where her friend Joanne Froggatt was honoured for her Downton role as lady’s maid Anna Bate.
Joanne picked up the Best Supporting Actress in a TV series prize and Laura was on hand to congratulate her, lavishing her with hugs after the ceremony. Laura recently revealed fans of the show treat the cast members different depending on their on-screen alter-egos. She joked that Michelle Dockery, the actress who plays her older sister, Lady Mary on the ITV period drama, gets a far better reception than her.
‘We definitely have a different way. Ive watched people talk to Michelle like shes the queen shes Lady Mary,’ Laura told the Radio Times. And the star says the most common misconception about her privileged character is that she shares the same interests. Laura added: ‘People ask me to go horse-riding and things. I have to say, “Im not really posh, I dont own a horse, I dont know how to do it”.’
