Forget about push up bras, frilly knickers and suspenders… Israeli beauty Refaeli, 27, has created a simple line of cotton panties, vests and pyjamas designed for comfort.
Her manifesto on her Under. Me website reads: ‘I feel I look my best when I’m comfortable – especially when it comes to underwear.’
Bar Rafaeli wants all women out there to reconnect with their bodies via her new collection of cotton lingerie basics.
‘Since its the closest thing that ever gets to my body I want it to compliment me, not steal the show! I live for simple clean lines, and of course, the softest cotton.’
Bar adds: ‘Within my line of work I travel constantly, rushing from city to city, and am lucky to be able to wear the most incredible and elaborate designs.
‘I love it, but on my downtime I just want to relax and be myself. I don’t want my clothes to define me and that’s the idea behind under me.
‘Its a focused collection of beautifully made basics that look good and feel amazing.
‘Underneath my clothes lies the real me. Nothing else.’
To illustrate the point, Bar has released a series of videos that she feels convey the ethos of her line.
She’s seen playing tennis, doing chores, advertising the clothes in a traditional way… and in one, completely naked.
The five-foot-nine beauty, cramps herself into a bath and is seen enjoying the relaxing water with a gasp then admiring her impeccable form in the mirror of her bathroom.
The Sports Illustrated cover model is also seen lounging around on a sofa and even smoking a cigar.
Last month, the former Germany’s Next Top Model gust judge started her own model casting show called Million Dollar Shooting Star on German TV Channel Sat.1.
While in Germany, Refaeli shot a promo for the program while appearing on a reality talent show called The Voice of Germany.
After ending her six-year, on-off relationship with movie star Leonardo DiCaprio, the now-single model dated Olympic gold medalist Shaun White last summer and Israeli businessman David Fisher, 35, last year.
Bar Refaeli is an Israeli model and occasional actress. She was the cover model of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and was voted #1 on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 list of 2012.
Bar Refaeli was born into an Israeli Jewish family in Hod HaSharon, Israel. Her parents, Rafael and Tzipi, own a horse ranch. Her mother was a successful Israeli model in the 1970s under her maiden name, Tzipi Levine. Refaeli has three brothers. She began a modeling career at the age of eight months, appearing in commercials. Refaeli had to wear braces in her early years, interrupting her modeling until age 15, when she returned to modeling with the representation of Irene Marie Models.
In 2011, Refaeli and Dudi Balsar, an attorney and former model, set up an E-commerce company called Under.me that will sell designer underwear. The company was slated to go online in November 2011. By November 2011, the company had raised $1 million in venture capital funds.
