Kimberley Walsh says she is more womanly then sexy: Cosmopolitan

Kimberley Jane Walsh is an English singer-songwriter, model, television presenter and actress. She rose to fame in late 2002 when she auditioned for the reality television show Popstars: The Rivals on ITV. The programme announced that Walsh had won a place as a member of the girl group, Girls Aloud. The group has achieved massive success, having twenty consecutive top ten singles (including four number ones) in the UK, six studio albums have all been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), two of which went to number one in the UK, and accumulating a total of five BRIT Award nominations. In 2009, Girls Aloud won “Best Single” with their song “The Promise”.
During the group’s hiatus Walsh embarked mainly on acting and presenting, In July 2010, Walsh became a presenter on music talk-show, Suck My Pop and presented coverage for the BAFTA Awards. In 2011, Walsh starred in Horrid Henry: The Movie as Prissy Polly. Musically, Walsh has featured on Aggro Santos’s “Like U Like”. In 2012 Walsh made her West End theatre debut, playing Princess Fiona in the London production of Shrek the Musical. Walsh fronted the 2009 Autumn/Winter collection for the fashion chain New Look and, in January 2011, Walsh was revealed as the new face of Puma AG. In 2012, Walsh took part in Strictly Come Dancing, where she finished as one of the runner-ups. Walsh’s net worth was estimated at £6 million in April 2012.
Her incredible curves got a whole new level of attention thanks to the skimpy ensembles she sported during her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.And Kimberley Walsh has joked that the interest in her famous bottom has now got so out of control that her rear has taken on a ‘life of its own’.Showcasing her enviable figure and tiny waist in a sexy shoot for the February edition of Cosmopolitan magazine, the 31-year-old singer admitted even her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts can’t resist a cheeky grope from time to time.
Speaking about her killer curves, Kimberley said: ‘I find it hard to talk about myself being sexy, but I guess my shape is more womanly than the model look, and thats sexier. I go with it; thats how I am!
‘But its not like putting on a dress suddenly makes you feel sexy. You need to feel good about yourself first. And I do physically Im really fit, and Im really happy.
‘My bottom has got a life of its own! Something about my bum was trending on Twitter recently and I was like, “Oh, my god, you lot are crazy!” Nicola loves to give my bum a squeeze too. Shes very toned and a completely different shape so shes like, “Its a sponge!”Joking that she is a ‘glutton for punishment’, the Bradford-born beauty explained she was thrilled to take part in Strictly Come Dancing – in which she finished as runner-up last month – as she can’t resist a challenge.
She added: ‘I love a challenge. If theres something where Im like, “I dont know if I can do that,” Ill do it just to prove I can. What can I say? Im a glutton for punishment. Im a bit psycho like that.’Kimberley has been dating boyfriend Justin Scott for almost 10 years, and despite the pair having been in a relationship for almost a decade, they are in no rush to marry.
She explained in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine: ‘Ive never been one of those girls whos like, “Oh, my god, my wedding day is going to be the be-all and end-all of my life”.’I have divorced parents, so you try to be really sensible and not do it until the time is really right, and then it just goes on and on, and then you dont have the time! But eventually we will.’
Despite her apparent reluctance to get married, Kimberley admitted she is keen to settle down and have a family.
She added: ‘Ive started looking to the future a bit more. I do eventually want to settle down and have a family, which is why Im fulfilling all of my dreams and selfish ambitions right now.
‘I could definitely have a baby as part of Girls Aloud. The girls would support me because, as much as we put the group first, family is more important than any job. Im not there yet, though.’
After Girls Aloud’s three years of hiatus, the group reunited for their 10th anniversary. The group will release their new single, “Something New” on 18 November 2012. The music video for the song was filmed in October 2012, and premiered on YouTube on 19 October 2012. The song is also the official charity single for Children in Need. The group will also release their second greatest hits compilation, Ten on 26 November 2012. In 2013, the group will embark on Ten – The Hits Tour 2013.
On 7 September 2012, Walsh was announced as one of the 14 celebrities, competiting in tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. Her professional partner is last year’s runner-up Pasha Kovalev. She received 3 perfect 40’s during the series, and she finished as one of the runner-ups, behind Olympian Louis Smith.On 4 February 2013, Walsh will release her debut album, Centre Stage which will feature a series of popular musical tunes and will be released through Decca Records.
She placed number 37 in FHMs annual list of “100 Sexiest Woman in the World”in 2009 ahead of bandmates Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding who were placed at 57, 58 and 87 respectively. Walsh also won the Yorkshire Woman of the Year award 2009 in recognition not only for her professional success but also for her role as celebrity ambassador for the Breast Cancer Haven charity, which has a branch in Leeds. She was too awarded with the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Woman’s award in 2009.
