The rumour mill went into overdrive earlier this week when it was reported that Katy had recorded a brand new song called “1984” in a dig at her rival after her track Bad Blood. But a spokesperson for the star has quashed the rumours.
“Katy Perrys managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false,” a rep for Perry at Universal told Billboard. “Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song.” Katy, who was born in 1984, has remained silent during the furore around Taylor’s public dig at her.

In March 2008, Perry made a cameo appearance as a club singer in the Wildfire episode “Life’s Too Short”, and appeared as herself during a photo shoot in June on The Young and the Restless for the show’s magazine Restless Style.
