Go red to fight heart disease

Information on heart disease and how it affects women can be the No. 1 defense against it.
The American Heart Association Coachella Valley Division’s 2009 Go Red For Women luncheon with chairwoman Pattie Newman is slated from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells.
The event brings together experts in health and life values to aid women in becoming their best health advocates.
The informative day includes interactive educational sessions with speaker Jamie Sepulveda-Bailey on Woman and her life in R.E.D., cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Stephen Gundry on Eating like your life depended on it, and cardiovascular interventionist and president of the Inland Empire Division of the American Heart Association Dr. Syed Bokhari on Women and Heart Disease.
Tickets for the lunch are $100 and are available by phone.
