FDA Considering Viagra For Women
Reported June 04, 2010
The FDA’s Health Drugs Advisory Committee has announced it will consider approval of a Viagra-like drug for women.
If approved, Flibanserin will be the first FDA-approved drug to boost sexual arousal in women.
In trials, Flibanserin failed to treat symptoms of depression, which was its original intended use, but it had an intriguing side effect: increased sexual desire in women.
After studying more than 5,000 women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder (an unexplained loss of sexual feelings that may affect up to 10 percent of women), the company found that women experienced a sizeable increase in their sexual desire and satisfaction.
What do you think? If approved, would you pop the little pink pill?
