Thousands of doctors in Nepal have returned to work ending a strike after the government bowed to their demands.
Government chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudyal said Thursday a written agreement was signed between him and Dr. Govinda K.C., who has been on a hunger strike for 11 days demanding reforms in medical education and services.
Thousands of doctors stayed away from work since Wednesday to support K.C.
Dr. Nirmal Rimal of the Nepal Medical Association says doctors are returning back to work Thursday.
