Keys to a good infant feeding in summer: Argentina Society of Pediatrics (SAP) Recommendations.
– Reported, January 22, 2013
The Association of Child Nutrition (ANI) produced a report which outlines tips to keep in mind, to avoid dehydration, diarrhea or heat stroke.
* The importance of breastfeeding. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding to the newborn until the sixth month and one breastfeed longer to two years. This is due to its nutritional and immunological benefits.
* More frequent breastfeeding. Argentina Society of Pediatrics (SAP) recommended increasing the frequency and duration of each breast before making the need to keep the baby hydrated.
* Alternatives. Where breastfeeding which for some reason is insufficient or not possible, it is best to supplement it calls infant formula (IF). These are designed to meet the nutritional needs for each stage and contain vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, nucleotides and prebiotics for proper growth and development of the baby.
* Develop and use at the time. When preparing a bottle powdered infant formula, the ideal is elaborate and consuming at the time. Milk prepared and can not be more than 1 hour at room temperature or frozen.
* Do not store in the refrigerator. Never keep leftover milk from a bottle in the fridge or warm formula because of repeated changes temperature can encourage bacteria to reproduce at levels unsuitable for the baby’s health.
